There are instants in our lives you would love to extend forever. Those instants you know that will live forever with you and therefore you’ll be missing forever. Like the time everyone was happy. Like that time you graduated from college. Like that time you fell in love. Like that time you traveled together. Like that time you were still in love. Like that very first time you said hello.
Sadly, those are only what we call them: memories, instants in our minds. Everything fades, everything goes away, everything seems much different, like it was not what it used to be. Everything. And we just hang there, trying to remember who we are and who we were when everything was ok.
I love this quote from a song by The antlers called “Endless Ladder”. The feeling it gives me is kind of what this picture makes me feel, somehow nostalgic and full of memories, also distracted as if I was far far away from everything.
This was I think his favorite picture from the trip, at least as far as I remember.
